As part of Turkey’s strategic development plans and with the encouragement and support of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), steps have been taken to enhance the quality of vocational schools and their graduates in order to contribute to a skilled workforce. Driven by this motivation and with the support of our universities, the Association for the Evaluation and Accreditation of Vocational Education (MEDEK) was established in 2021.
In 2023, our association was granted accreditation authority by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) for 83 Vocational School programs to ensure that these programs meet established standards, quality criteria, and performance metrics.
MEDEK’s Mission: To contribute to the enhancement of education and teaching quality by providing information, external evaluation, and accreditation services for associate degree programs.
MEDEK Vision: To be a pioneering organization that defines the quality of educational and research activities/administrative processes of associate degree programs, as well as the quality of the workforce, in accordance with national and international standards, and shares the results with relevant institutions and organizations to certify quality.
MEDEK’s Purpose: To lead the way in training vocational professionals who keep pace with professional developments, can respond to changing labor market needs, possess high professional skills and competencies, are innovative and socially responsible, capable of taking initiative, and meet the qualifications sought by the relevant sector.
