Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Oğuzeli Vocational School took a significant step in the accreditation process for its Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Logistics programs by having MEDEK (Vocational Education and Accreditation Association) conduct on-site visits to evaluate the quality standards and educational processes of these two programs.
During the visit, criteria such as educational infrastructure, curricula, faculty, student services, and collaboration with the business world were evaluated, and steps to improve educational processes were discussed with the academic staff and students.
The curricula and educational processes of the OSH and Logistics programs were evaluated, and a comprehensive report was prepared regarding the programs’ alignment with professional needs. The MEDEK Evaluation Reports were presented to the department faculty by Team Leader Prof. Dr. Metin İpek, together with GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Memet Şahin and the program chairs.
Commenting on MEDEK’s site visit, Prof. Dr. Memet Şahin stated that they considered the visit to be significant. Prof. Dr. Şahin said, “This accreditation process provides us, as the Oğuzeli Vocational School, with an opportunity to review our quality standards and evaluate our teaching and learning processes at the national and international levels. We believe that the on-site visit conducted by MEDEK will make a significant contribution to improving the educational quality of both our Occupational Safety and Health and Logistics programs. Through accreditation, we aim not only to demonstrate the importance we place on our students’ education but also to increase the alignment of our programs with the business world, thereby producing better-prepared graduates.”
