A technical field trip was organized to the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department for students of the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program at Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Oğuzeli Vocational School, with the aim of giving them a closer look at the firefighting profession.
Organized by Mehmet Palabıyık, Lecturer at the Oğuzeli Vocational School, Technical Branch Director Alpay Canözer and team leaders provided the students with information on materials and equipment, the vehicles used in emergency responses, as well as theoretical and practical training related to the firefighting profession.
Stating that the Gaziantep Fire Department always stands by the students, Technical Branch Director Alpay Canözer expressed his satisfaction with the visit and emphasized that the firefighting profession is both sacred and challenging, noting that work ethic and discipline are two crucial elements within fire departments.
GAÜN Lecturer Mehmet Palabıyık, commenting on the technical tour, thanked the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department for the support and attention they showed the students.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Şahin, Director of the GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School, noted that as the Oğuzeli Vocational School, they train qualified students with a high level of knowledge and response capability through theoretical and practical education, and “We continue to contribute to the development of the firefighting profession, which is one of the most dangerous occupations in our country,” he said.
