A conference titled “Combating Addiction to Narcotics and Stimulants, the Fundamentals of Addiction, and Their Harm to Our Country and Individuals.”
The conference, organized by Zeki Sunar, an instructor in the Private Security and Protection Program of the Property Protection and Security Department at the Oğuzeli Vocational School, and students of the Private Security and Protection Program, featured as speakers officials from the Narcotics Crime Combat Branch of the Gaziantep Police Department and the Turkey Drug Drug Addiction Monitoring Center (TUBİM) Office.
As part of the fight against drug and stimulant addiction, the police department officials delivered presentations under the Youth Module Training Program—prepared with the contribution of the TUBİM Scientific Board—aimed at supporting young people in protecting their health and avoiding substance abuse.
The presentations provided information on the importance of combating narcotics-related crimes, substance addiction, the effects of substance use, methods of protection against addiction, the legal framework regarding drug-related crimes, centers for combating substance addiction, professional support centers, and the UYUMA mobile application.
Emphasizing that substance use is one of the most dangerous problems facing young people, Prof. Dr. Memet Şahin, Director of the GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School, stated that such events aimed at preventing harmful substance use among young people will continue.
