Students in the Justice Program of the Department of Law at Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Oğuzeli Vocational School, under the coordination of Lecturer Ali Altunbaş, visited the Gaziantep Courthouse to observe court proceedings.
Explaining that the Justice Program students attended the courtroom sessions to better reinforce the topics they had learned in class, Assistant Professor Ali Altunbaş, Chair of the Department of Law at GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School, “We attended court sessions with our students where various cases were heard in the High Criminal Courts, including intentional homicide, robbery, fraud, and sexual abuse. By observing court personnel—including judges, prosecutors, attorneys, court clerks, and bailiffs—our students not only reinforced what they had learned but also gained insight into the institutions where they will work after graduation.”
Prof. Dr. Memet Şahin, Director of the GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School, emphasized the importance they place on field trips and visits to ensure that the education provided at the school is reflected in practice, “Raising the students’ educational level and ensuring they are familiar with the institutions where they will work in the future make these visits essential. For this reason, as a vocational school, we will continue to organize such activities in collaboration with other institutions as much as possible,” he said.
