Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Oğuzeli Vocational School organized a technical field trip with students from the Occupational Health and Safety Program.
Accompanied by GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School instructors Yaşar Ede and Ziya Ersoy, the technical tour featured Empera Carpet Quality and OSH Manager and Occupational Safety (OSH) Specialist Serkan Özkalender, along with GAÜN graduate Occupational Safety Specialist Aylin Atalay and OSH Technician Mustafa Öztürk, shared information with the students about the company’s occupational safety practices.
During the informational meeting held prior to the company visit, explanations were provided regarding the authorities and responsibilities of occupational safety specialists, as well as their working conditions. After providing information on OSH regulations and the necessity of OSH practices, Özkalender answered the students’ questions. During the company tour, topics such as noise, dust control, fire safety, workplace accidents, and occupational diseases were discussed.
Prof. Dr. Memet Şahin, Director of GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School, emphasized the importance they place on technical field trips as a vocational school, stating, “Practical training plays a significant role in our students’ education, and as the GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School, we will continue to organize technical field trips; I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization,” he said.
