A conference on the current state of the international trade and logistics sector and job opportunities in this sector was organized for students in the Logistics Program at Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Oğuzeli Vocational School, coordinated by Lecturer Ayşe Nur Mercan
The speakers at the conference were Yusuf Kazcı, Business Development Manager at Eyup Logistics, and Dr. Funda Mermertaş.
Yusuf Kazcı shared his industry experience with the logistics program students and offered advice. He noted that the logistics sector offers numerous job opportunities for graduates and that international trade and logistics companies need both experienced and trainee personnel in this field. Yusuf Kazcı advised students to further their professional development by working at international trade and logistics firms after completing their education in this field, and he also briefed them on recent developments in the logistics sector and green logistics.
Dr. Funda Mermertaş, meanwhile, highlighted the importance of education in logistics, stating that the knowledge and experience young people gain in this field will pave the way for successful careers. Dr. Mermertaş noted that international trade and logistics are not merely a career choice but also the key to effectively thriving in a globalizing world.
At the conclusion of the conference, which was met with great interest by students in the International Trade and Logistics program, Lecturer Ayşe Nur Mercan noted that such events help shape students’ careers and contribute to their personal development.
Prof. Dr. Memet ŞAHİN, Director of the GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School, noted that these conferences provide students with the opportunity to learn about current developments in the sector and help boost their motivation to achieve their goals in this field.
