Students from the Occupational Health and Safety Program at Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Oğuzeli Vocational School attended the 2nd International and 11th National Occupational Health and Safety Congress, held at the Mithat Özcan Amphitheater at Çukurova University.
Prof. Dr. Memet Şahin, Director of the GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School, emphasized the importance of hands-on training in the education of GAÜN Oğuzeli Vocational School students and stated that technical field trips would continue.
Accompanied by Assistant Professor Derya Çevik Taşdemir, Lecturer Yaşar Ede, and Lecturer Ziya Ersoy, the students participated in seminars presented as part of the 2nd International 11th National Occupational Health and Safety Congress and toured the exhibition booths.
In their presentations, Lecturers Yaşar Ede and Ziya Ersoy discussed discussed topics such as legislative developments and practices in the field of occupational health and safety, the authorities and responsibilities of OHS professionals in the workplace, risk assessments, major industrial accidents, fire safety, workplace accidents, and occupational diseases.
Assistant Professor Dr. Derya Çevik Taşdemir stated that GAÜN would undertake all necessary efforts to ensure students graduate well-equipped to embrace a culture of workplace safety.
