Students from the Private Security and Protection Program and the Computer Technologies Program at Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Oğuzeli Vocational School organized educational games for children at the Oğuzeli Residential Regional Middle School (YİBO).
Organized as part of the Social Awareness Projects (TDP) course under the coordination of Lecturers Yasin Eroğlu and M. Çağrı Yıldız, the event provided students with a very enjoyable experience.
Noting that children are no longer able to play outside as they used to due to factors such as technological advancements and increasing urbanization, Lecturer Yasin Eroğlu stated, “There is a rise in diseases caused by a sedentary lifestyle among the younger generations. Children aren’t leaving the house; they’re just spending their time in front of computers. Playing is very important for children’s physiological, sociological, and psychological development. Today, we wanted to raise awareness about this issue through our educational games.”
Prof. Dr. Memet Şahin, Director of Oğuzeli Vocational School, noted that games are an integral part of our culture and that we must preserve them and pass them on to future generations. He expressed his gratitude to Hüseyin Gülsevgi, Principal of the Regional Boarding Middle School, and Mustafa Terlemez, the school’s Vice Principal.
