GAÜN STUDENTS WARNED ABOUT STOVE POISONING

Students at the Oğuzeli Vocational School of Gaziantep University (GAÜN) raised awareness about carbon monoxide poisoning under the slogan “Be Aware of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning from Your Home Heater.” As part of the Social Awareness Project coordinated by GAÜN Faculty Member Dr. Celal Bal, informational brochures were distributed and banners were hung.

Noting that there is a significant increase in cases of stove poisoning in the Oğuzeli district every year, particularly in December and January, GAÜN Faculty Member Dr. Celal Bal, explained that, to prevent these increases, with the support of informational brochures and banners provided by the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, students from the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program distributed informational brochures about stove-related carbon monoxide poisoning in the Oğuzeli district, and banners were hung at heavily frequented workplaces.

Prior to the project, instructors from the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program educated students on carbon monoxide poisoning and key safety precautions. Through the distribution of brochures and banners by the students, the residents of Oğuzeli were informed about carbon monoxide poisoning.
