Students from the Correctional and Security Services Program at the Oğuzeli Vocational School of Gaziantep University (GAÜN), under the coordination of Lecturer Ali Altunbaş, took a field trip to the Gaziantep Probation and Parole Directorate.
During the visit, Yunus Kurt, an instructor at the Probation and Parole Directorate, gave a presentation to the students on the agency’s organizational structure and mission. In his presentation, Kurt explained that probation and parole programs are carried out with the goals of crime prevention, reintegrating convicts into society, and rehabilitating substance abusers.
During the technical visit, the students had the opportunity to tour the offices and workshops within the institution and observe the work being carried out firsthand.
Oğuzeli Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Tuba Direkci stated in her remarks regarding the field trip, “As Gaziantep University’s Oğuzeli Vocational School, we place great importance on inter-institutional collaboration. It is crucial for our students to see practical applications firsthand, as this reinforces their coursework and promotes lasting learning. We aim to achieve this through technical field trips like this one,” she said.
