Students from the Correctional and Security Services Program at the Oğuzeli Vocational School of Gaziantep University (GAÜN), coordinated by Lecturer Ali Altunbaş, took a field trip to the Gaziantep Probation Directorate.
During the visit, Yunus Kurt, an instructor at the Probation and Parole Directorate, gave a presentation to the students on the institution’s organizational structure and mission. In his presentation, Kurt explained that probation and parole programs are carried out in line with objectives such as crime prevention, the reintegration of convicts into society, and the rehabilitation of substance abusers.
During the technical visit, the students had the opportunity to tour the offices and workshops within the institution and observe the work being carried out firsthand.
Oğuzeli Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Tuba Direkci, in her statement regarding the field trip, said, “As the Oğuzeli Vocational School of Gaziantep University, we place great importance on inter-institutional cooperation. It is crucial for our students to see practical applications firsthand, as this reinforces their coursework and promotes lasting learning. We aim to achieve this through such technical field trips,” she said.
