
Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Oğuzeli Vocational School (MYO), in collaboration with the Gaziantep Oğuzeli District Governor’s Office, held a conference titled “Youth and Substance Abuse Education Module” as part of the National Strategy Document and Action Plan for the Fight Against Drugs.
The program, prepared with the contributions of the Scientific Board of the Turkish Center for Monitoring Drugs and Drug Addiction (TUBİM), was organized by Zeki Sunar, an instructor at Oğuzeli MYO, and Dr. Ercan Yücel, an assistant professor. The conference drew significant interest from faculty members and students.
Officials from the Gaziantep Police Department’s Narcotics Crime Unit and the TUBİM Office participated as speakers at the event, which covered: information was provided on substance abuse, ways to prevent addiction, the importance of combating narcotics crimes, the effects of drugs, professional support services, treatment centers, legal processes, and the UYUMA mobile app.
The conference also aimed to raise awareness among young people about substance abuse, help them adopt healthy lifestyle habits, and educate them on the fight against drugs. The program concluded with a question-and-answer session following the presentations.
