A CONFERENCE ON “STUDENT DISCIPLINARY OFFENSES AND PENALTIES” WAS HELD AT OĞUZELİ VOCATIONAL SCHOOL

A conference titled “Student Disciplinary Offenses and Penalties in Higher Education Institutions” was held at the Oğuzeli Vocational School (MYO) of Gaziantep University (GAÜN). Held in the Oğuzeli MYO Conference Hall, the conference was presented by Lecturer Ali Altunbaş from the Department of Law to first-year students as part of their orientation.

During the conference, Lecturer Altunbaş provided information on disciplinary offenses and penalties outlined in the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and discussed the administrative and legal consequences of disciplinary offenses committed by students. He also briefed students on issues they should be aware of regarding consumer law.

Speaking about the purpose of the conference, Lecturer Ali Altunbaş said, “In addition to the courses we offer as part of the adjustment process for our new students, we provided information on the rules that must be followed at the college and the disciplinary and legal consequences that may arise if these rules are not followed. We also discussed, with examples, the matters our students should be mindful of as consumers.”

Prof. Dr. Tuba Direkci, Director of Oğuzeli Vocational School, commented on the event, stating, “Our primary goal is to improve the quality of education and instruction at our school. The path to achieving this goal lies in ensuring a structured and disciplined educational environment. Successful education is only possible with a disciplined approach. In this regard, we organized this conference to raise our students’ awareness of school discipline rules,” she said.
