SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECT BY STUDENTS AT OĞUZELİ VOCATIONAL SCHOOL

Students in the Computer Programming Program at Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Oğuzeli Vocational School carried out an important social responsibility project as part of their Social Awareness Projects (TDP) course. In the event, coordinated by Lecturers Yasin Eroğlu and M. Çağrı Yıldız, the students gathered with children at Oğuzeli Piri Reis Middle School to play educational games.

Throughout the event, the students played games with the children that were both fun and educational, contributing to their physical and social development. Noting that technology and urbanization are leading children toward a sedentary lifestyle, Lecturer Yasin Eroğlu stated that they aim to foster an awareness of the importance of physical activity among children through such events. Eroğlu said, “Health problems caused by a sedentary lifestyle are on the rise among the younger generation. Instead of playing outside, children are spending their time in front of screens. With today’s event, we wanted to draw attention to this situation,” he said.

Oğuzeli Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Atilla Ahmet Uğur also supported the event, emphasizing that traditional games hold an important place among our cultural values. Stating that such events should be passed on to future generations, Prof. Dr. Uğur thanked Piri Reis Middle School Principal Tolga Çelik and Physical Education Teacher Mevlüt Alına for their contributions to the event.
