SOCIAL SECURITY INSTITUTION INFORMATION SESSION AT OĞUZELİ VOCATIONAL SCHOOL

An informational event on the “Social Security Institution” was held for students in the Social Security Program of the Property Protection and Security Department at Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Oğuzeli Vocational School (MYO), as part of the Social Awareness Projects (TDP).

Dr. Ayça Özceylan, an instructor at the Oğuzeli MYO, delivered the opening remarks. She noted that the Social Security Program is a field that is gaining increasing importance in Turkey and emphasized that such practical events make a significant contribution to the students’ education.

Associate Professor Dr. Bülent Demirağ, who spoke at the event, provided participants with comprehensive information on current developments and key issues in the field of social security. Students were informed about the operations of critical services provided by the Social Security Institution, such as public relations, counseling, short-term insurance branches, allocations, registration of insured individuals, consolidation of service periods, borrowing, and workplace registration.

Project Coordinator Lecturer Dr. Merve Kaplan emphasized that such events help students keep up with innovations in the sector and build their careers on a more solid foundation, while Dr. Ayça Özceylan also noted that reinforcing theoretical knowledge gained in classes with practical application makes a significant contribution to students’ education.

Oğuzeli Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Atilla Ahmet Uğur, meanwhile, highlighted the importance of the support these events provide for students’ professional development and thanked everyone involved.
