Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Students from the Logistics Program at the Oğuzeli Vocational School organized a technical field trip to Gaziantep Airport, the Customs Directorate, and the Cargo Terminal under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Sadettin Paksoy, Lecturer Dr. Ayşe Nur Mercan, and Lecturer Yaşar Ede.
During the tour, students visited the various departments in the order of their operations and received information from managers about operational processes. Topics related to passenger and baggage services, import-export procedures, customs controls, and regulations were presented through hands-on demonstrations. Students had the opportunity to ask experts questions and gain clarity on topics they were curious about.
Commenting on the field trip, Prof. Dr. Sadettin Paksoy emphasized that such visits help reinforce theoretical knowledge with practical experience, while Lecturer Dr. Ayşe Nur Mercan noted that the students had the opportunity to observe airport operations firsthand and determine their career paths. Instructor Yaşar Ede, meanwhile, stated that these field trips are important for preparing students for the professional world.
Oğuzeli Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Memet Şahin emphasized that the information and observation opportunities provided were highly educational for the students; he thanked the airport authorities and celebrated the 92nd anniversary of Gaziantep Airport.
