Technical Field Trip from Oğuzeli Vocational School to the Gaziantep Courthouse

Students in the Justice Program of the Department of Law at the Oğuzeli Vocational School of Gaziantep University (GAÜN) organized a field trip to the Gaziantep Courthouse under the coordination of Lecturer Ali Altunbaş.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe court proceedings related to various cases at the Gaziantep High Criminal Court, gaining firsthand insight into the judicial process. Following the court proceedings, the students visited the Gaziantep Bar Association. There, the students met with Bar Association President Attorney Bülent Duran and Vice President Attorney Ergin Sözen and participated in an informative discussion on “the right to defense, the legal profession, the Bar Association’s activities, and legal practices.”

In a statement regarding the field trip, Lecturer Ali Altunbaş said, “Through these types of field trips, we have the chance to observe in practice the topics and individuals we cover theoretically in class. It is of great importance for our graduating students to see the environments they will encounter in their professional lives in advance, as this helps boost their motivation.”

Oğuzeli Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Memet Şahin, in his assessment of the field trip, noted, “As a university and vocational school, we support our students not only through classroom education but also through practical activities that prepare them for their professional lives. Such technical field trips make a significant contribution to developing our students’ professional awareness. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gaziantep Bar Association President Attorney Bülent Duran and Vice President Attorney Ergin Sözen, as well as all bar association and court staff, for hosting our students,” he said.
